East African Nilotica Shea is very rare and accounts for 1% of all shea produced in the world.
Our Nilotica shea oil is harvested in Northern Uganda, East Africa. It is unrefined and cold pressed to retain the highest levels of bioactive nutrients.
Ripe shea fruits fall from the tree in Uganda, from the months of April through June and are harvested before sunrise by the rural women.
A natural resource controlled by women, the shea butter tree supports the nutritional and economic health of rural families and sustains indigenous plant and animal biodiversity.
